SMS Terms of Service
These SMS Terms of Service ("SMS Terms") govern your use of the OilSiphon text-message ("SMS") services (the "SMS Program"). By enrolling in the SMS Program, you agree to these SMS Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Program Description
The OilSiphon SMS Program enables field workers (pumpers) employed or contracted by oil & gas operators to submit daily well production readings via text message and receive transactional, operational, and service messages from OilSiphon and the enrolled operator. The SMS Program is operational, not promotional. We do not send marketing content through this Program.
Eligibility
The SMS Program is available to:
- Adults aged 18 and over,
- Located within the United States,
- Who are employed or contracted by an OilSiphon operator customer, and
- Who have been enrolled in the SMS Program by their operator's authorized staff after verbal or written consent.
Opt-In and Consent
You are opted in to the SMS Program by your operator's office staff during onboarding. Office staff describe the SMS Program (purpose, message types, frequency, data rates, opt-out instructions) and obtain your consent verbally and in writing on a one-page enrollment form. A confirmation message is sent to your mobile number after enrollment. Consent to the SMS Program is not a condition of employment; paper-based production reporting remains available on request.
Message Frequency
Message frequency is variable and depends on the number of wells on your route and the number of variance alerts triggered on a given day. Typical volume is two to five (2-5) messages per work day. On non-work days you will receive no messages.
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply per your mobile carrier's plan. OilSiphon does not charge any fee for messages sent or received through the SMS Program. Check with your carrier for details about the rates that apply to your plan.
Message Content
Through the SMS Program you may receive:
- Confirmation messages each time you submit a well reading.
- Variance alerts when a submitted reading deviates significantly from the well's recent average and we need you to confirm or correct it.
- Route-progress summaries.
- Service-administration messages, such as enrollment confirmations, HELP responses, and opt-out confirmations.
Opt-Out
You may unenroll from the SMS Program at any time by replying STOP to any message from OilSiphon. After we receive STOP, you will receive one final confirmation that you have been removed, and no further messages will be sent to that mobile number under this Program. If you wish to re-enroll later, contact your operator's office.
Help
Reply HELP to any message from OilSiphon to receive support information, including the OilSiphon support email address.
Carrier Disclaimer
Mobile carriers (including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, US Cellular, and others) are not liable for delayed, undelivered, or misdelivered messages. We do not guarantee that any message will be delivered on any particular schedule.
No Resale; No Sharing of Your Mobile Number
OilSiphon will not share, sell, rent, or lease mobile phone numbers obtained through the SMS Program to third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile phone numbers are used only to operate the SMS Program on behalf of the operator that enrolled you, and are disclosed only to the limited technical service providers listed in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to These SMS Terms
We may modify these SMS Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled users in-product or via the SMS Program.
